$1 million Mega Millions Prize won by Kansas woman
Lisa Metz, a resident of Hutchison, Kansas, was prompted to stop and purchase a Lottery ticket in Missouri by a sign. She was just about to leave the state when she saw a Mega Millions sign showing the jackpot was large. This prompted her to tell her husband to stop. She said she saw the amount of the jackpot on the billboard and told her husband to stop so they could get a ticket in Missouri and then they could get another one in Kansas. Metz purchased the ticket at the QuikTrip located at 1951 Prairie View Road in Platte City, Missouri. On the third ticket, she matched the first 5 numbers, a match worth $1 million. The winning numbers were 11-37-46-64-68. Metz said her family relocates every few years because of her husband’s job. They happened to be visiting friends from when they resided in the area for four years and she had nothing but positive things to say about Kansas City. When asked about how she plans to spend the money, Metz had simple plans in mind. She stated she wanted a smart phone and her husband wanted a new pair of shoes. She also stated they would become debt free, keeping the same cars they have and pay their mortgage off.
